My name is Ron Morin, the reason for my writing today is for my sister's husband. He suffered a massive heart attack and stroke on Monday, January 4th. His name is Norman Saylor, my sister is Patricia Saylor. He is only 49 years old and the father of 6 children and 8 grandchildren. He is originally from Greensburg Indiana. He and my sister currently reside in Titusville Florida. The two of them moved here to be closer to my mother who is getting on in years and needs help from time to time. Norman is a avid NASCAR fan and outdoorsman. Upon arriving to Florida he found a few odd jobs to gain employment as soon as possible. I.E. mowing lawns and such. He is currently empolyed at a temp agency as a deisel mechanic. For most of his life he worked with heavy machinery as a mechanic. He has been a hard worker all his life and never cut corners or accepted a handout. He is a proud man and is totally unaware of this plea for help. This idea for the Go Fund Me page is all my idea. He would never ask for help from strangers or even family members for that matter. The two of them have been struggling since they picked up and moved their lives to Florida. Times are tight for everyone, but they have been doing whatever it takes to squeek by and make a living on their own. Then, this past Monday this happened. Norman and my sister Pat went outside to enjoy the evening sunset when he mentioned to her he felt dizzy and mumbled something else she wasn't able to understand. Not a second later he fell backwards unconscious hitting his head on the concrete. Patty tried to speak to him and shook him while crying out for help. He wasn't responding and had no pulse. My sister is NOT trained to give CPR but has seen enough on television on the basics of what to do. She began doing chest compressions and rescue breathing while still calling out for help. Lucky for him a neighbor who also happens to be a nurse heard the cries for help and ran over to help the best she could. She took over the CPR for my sister while Patty called 911. Eventually the paramedics took over the CPR and whisked Norman off to the Emergency Room. He is currenly still in the Intensive Care Unit in and out of consciouness. His condition remains to date as critical but stable. They are trying to ween him off of the painkillers so they can get an idea of any brain damage that might have occured while "out of it" and not breathing, alive even. I myself are trained in CPR and can't comprehend having to do it on anyone, let alone a loved one. It is remarkable she was able to do what she only could recall from watching televison to save a live. Her husbands life. The doctors have themselves stated she saved his life and if not for her we would be planning a funeral and not asking for monetary help. My sister herself is much to busy and in a state of shock to do this herself. She also is sleeping on dirty hospital sofas, when she can sleep, to be with Norman during this trying time. I am reaching out to what I believe are the compassionate humans in this world who might be able to afford a small amount to help this truly needy couple. There are car payments, rent, loans, food and countless other bills that need to be paid. Even when, and I pray to God he fully recovers, will he be unable to work the only kind of work he knows how to do to catch up with the ever piling up bills. I hope you can find it in your heart to help out these two people with any amount. I am unsure of any set amount of what they will need for cash. I just pulled the 10k goal amount out of thin air knowing that would be a huge help to them. I know for a fact the medical bills alone will far outreach that amount. let alone the mounting rent and other daily expenses. Both Norman and my sister Patty are wonderful, God fearing people who would give what they could when you needed the help. I can't beg you enough to try and give any amount, even a dollar would help. May God bless you and Jesus please hold Norman's hand and help him get over this tragic event!
