Africatown Vandalized by Hate Crime
Donation protected
Dear Community,
My name is Toyia Taylor, founder of We.App, we are raising funds to help rebuild programming for Africatown Center for Education & Innovation. All donations will go directly to the organization to help rebuild programming.
Africatown Center for Education & Innovation
has been vandalized- equipment stolen, community center trashed and words of hatred etched into the whiteboards that once displayed plans for community building. Let's pull together to help Africatown
rebuild.

Email from Africatown founder Wyking:
I am reaching out to share with you an unfortunate set of circumstances as Africatown Center for Education & Innovation has been the target of burglary and horrible vandalism this week (pictures attached). Equipment was stolen and our network was destroyed and we are still assessing the total damages.
All programming has been temporarily shut down including Umoja PEACE Center Young Geniuses, ADYA Sankofa Tutoring and other student, women’s and immigrant support services. We are appealing to community to help support our speedy recovery in time for spring programming including our spring break camps.
Any and all support that can be offered by any of our community and or civic partners will be greatly appreciated.
