Save for life changing surgery!

Hi everyone! My name’s Max Jamieson, I'm 25 years old and I'm a transgender man from Edinburgh, Scotland. I’ve been so hesitant in doing this for so long but I’ve decided to bite the bullet. After many years struggling with my gender identity and 2.5 years of risky self medicating I finally reached the top of the waiting list for the Gender Identity Clinic! I’ve had my first appointment in which I got diagnosed, my (well-needed) bloods taken and I was prescribed hormones. This is a major step in the right direction for this journey I’m on BUT unfortunately wait times for top surgery on the NHS would be years and I simply just don’t have that in me, so I’ve decided to go private.

Typically, top surgery in the UK costs over £6000 which just feels unreachable right now. Luckily prices abroad are significantly lower. Therefore my plan is to go abroad for surgery. As of 2024 surgical procedures in Turkey will be increasing in price by 30-40%. So the pressure is on to save, save, save so that I can go before the end of the year and lock in the current price.

I have made this fundraiser in the hope that it will help me reach my goal as soon as possible. I understand times are tough right now and not everyone is in a position to donate however any donation no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated. I have also added my PayPal below if you want to donate but cant afford GoFundMe’s minimum donation! If you are unable to donate but would like to help me reach my goal I would be so grateful for any shares and who knows with the power of social media maybe we will get there!! I would be unbelievably grateful to anyone who can help me reach my goal!! I will be saving as much of my own money as I can but because its such a short space of time I need all the help I can get. After being so overwhelmed with such a positive response over the past 24 hours I decided to contact the hospital in Turkey! The surgeon quoted me £3500 and I am absolutely buzzing to announce that Im now booked in for surgery on the 12th of December!! I have increased my goal to the total of £3500, this will cover:

Surgery, 1 night stay in hospital, general anaesthesia, blood tests, medical vest, translator & airport shuttle! It really is getting real now and I cant thank you all enough for helping me make this happen!!️‍
