Meals on Wheels - Supporting the Roseland
Raising funds to support our Community through the Covid-19 Crisis
The CoronaVirus outbreak means that all of us are having to make dramatic changes in our day-to-day lives. For some in our Community this will be much tougher than for others.
Gerrans Parish Charity exists to support individuals and families through initiatives that benefit the whole community.
Since the start of this current crisis, the Charity has worked alongside Roseland Together, run by the RSPG, and local commercial kitchens that operate in the Parish, to provide the 'Gerrans Meals on Wheels' service. Whilst the service is named after the Parish it is based in, it now operates across the whole of the Roseland.
This service, free at the point of delivery, provides one simple, freshly cooked, three course meal, 7 days a week. Meals are cooked in commercial 5 star inspected kitchens by food safety qualified staff and delivered hot to the door. Since starting on Monday 23rd March the demand for the service has grown steadily and we expect it to continue to do so.
We now need your help!
The Charity has underwritten the first few weeks of operation, but we now need to start raising funds to continue this much needed service.
The cost of each meal to produce is around £5 pounds, however, this does not include labour or petrol costs for the volunteer delivery drivers.
Anything you can give, whether it be for one meal or one hundred, will be gratefully received.
So, if you live on the Roseland or you are a visitor and friend of our Community, please give what you can!
Thank you.
Trustees of Gerrans Parish Charity
Bobbie Mitchell, Sarah MacQueen, Andy Mullins, Duncan Backus, Ralph German, John Crombie, Rick Iddison
