Support Dan's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
On September 15, just 11 weeks after Dan and Avery Federico welcomed their first baby, Dan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

The diagnosis was sudden and unexpected, and Dan was immediately admitted for inpatient treatment at City of Hope hospital, over an hour from their home in Costa Mesa, CA. His cancer battle took him far from home and the new joy of his life, Piper, for the next month before he was finally discharged on October 15.

He has been fighting courageously – with the resilience, grace, and humor that is so quintessentially Dan – but the path is not easy. We’ve come together as Dan’s close friends to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time.

While there are still many unknowns about what’s next for Dan’s care, he and Avery are now in the midst of his transition back home, with many more rounds of chemotherapy and treatment ahead. Our donations can help Dan face this next phase with some of the financial burden eased.

Contributions will go toward the wide range of costs that come with this illness, such as medical and caregiving bills, travel expenses for trips between home and the hospital, and living expenses while Dan is unable to work.

Dan has always been an unwavering source of strength and support for the people that he loves; this is our chance to show him the same selfless care that he gives so freely to others. Please join us in our efforts to make this journey even a fraction easier, and to ensure that Dan and Avery can focus on what’s truly important: his recovery and their beautiful family.

A little about the Federicos:
Dan and Avery recently celebrated 14 years together and 7 years married, having first started dating in high school in Massachusetts. Dan served as a captain of Quinnipiac University’s Division 1 hockey team, where he graduated with his MBA. He went on to play professional hockey for ECHL teams in Texas and South Carolina. In recent years, the couple has settled down in Orange County with their French bulldog, Cheese. The recent addition of baby Piper has brought immeasurable joy, and very little sleep, to their sweet family.

With our love and thanks on behalf of the Federico's,
-Matthew Peca, Bryce Van Brabant, Devon Toews, Kevin Bui
& The Bobcat Family.
-Jenna Bonaiuto, Abby Pfister, Megan Lenkauskas & friends.
