Khobies trip to LA playing for QLD

Donation protected

Hi my name is Khobie and I have just turned 14. I am lucky enough to be feeling like I'm living the dream right now, being selected as a bottom age player to represent Queensland in a two week Basketball tour in Los Angeles. We will be doing intense training and a number of Basketball tournaments. It is an experience of a life time, one I can not knock back. I have been playing the sport since I was 10 years old, but have loved it for much longer. I was always too shy to play, mum would be coaching and I wouldn't participate just pass the ball when needed :), maybe have a shot or two. Then a new teacher came to my school when I was 9 who shared the same interest. His name was Mr M, I went from being a boy who was still crying when mum dropped me at school, to a boy who couldn't wait to get to school to discuss the NBA results and player stats with my teacher. This is when I think my confidence grew along with my love for the sport.
I train and play hard on court and off court and have set my sights high! I not only want to continue to represent Queensland  but one day play for Australian, in the NBL, College Division 1 in America, and hopefully one day in the NBA. I love the game, live, eat, breath and sleep basketball.  The money we raise on 'Go fund me' will help cover the costs of my trip, we do not have long to raise this money as the team was not long ago announced and we head to Los Angeles towards the end of June.
This is a life time experience I will never forget, I can not wait to see the basketball culture over there, and meet new people, hopefully head back with even more understanding of the game and some life long friends. I believe it's going to help me mature as a basketball player and I will come back more motivated than ever to achieve my goals.
I can not begin to explain how much this opportunity means to me. I am extremely greatful to those of you that have read this and appreciate anything anyone has done to help my journey.
Thank you again.
And a quick yee haa to my younger sister who was named in a Basketball U14 Queensland squad earlier this week :).
