Veda Johnson Return The Favor Fund

Hi, my name is David, and I'm putting this fundraiser together for an extraordinary person that I'm sure most of you already know, Veda Johnson.

 

Veda was always there to help me out throughout my career at Boeing. I'm sure many of you will remember reaching out to Veda for several different reasons....help with My Learning, trouble submitting an expense report for a recent trip, or help with getting a new hire assigned a computer are a few that come to mind. Whatever we needed help with, Veda was always there.

 

When COVID-19 hit, it was difficult for all of us. Some of us had to adjust how we came to work with the masking, 6ft social distancing, etc. Others had to adjust to working remotely while remaining productive by coordinating with other team members via online meetings. Another group of folks had to deal with downsizing due to COVID-19 and had to find other means of employment.

 

Unfortunately, Veda's position was included in the efforts to downsize. As most of us see on the nightly news, the working landscape has changed drastically and is not likely to go back to its pre-pandemic status. It has recently come to my attention that Veda has struggled to find gainful employment. I'm not a parent, so I can only imagine the many challenges of raising children and seeking employment in the quickly changing world we are in. As a co-worker, Veda always went the extra mile for me. So I'd like to do a little extra for her.  I can't think of a better way to show our appreciation for all she has done for us by returning the favor and making a small donation to help her out.

Veda's birthday is in April, and I thought that we could all pull together to make it the best birthday possible.
