Vedação para abrigo - Fence for the shelter

My name is Vera Silva, I am an artist and I have always loved nature and animals.

At the age of 15 I rescued my first dog and since then the number of animals that cross my path has been increasing.

At the age of 32 and due to the number of animals I already had with me, I decided to risk everything and start a life project. I bought a piece of land in Mafra and it is here that I am creating the home that the paws that are with me deserve. I brought the dogs and cats that I had in Lisbon and to them were added farm animals, namely little goats and birds.

I had never had goats and although it was an incredible experience we realized that they are more stubborn than us, in short, a simple fence is not enough, they find a way to jump and go eat in the only places where they should not do it (neighbors' yard). Since last summer I have been wanting to change the fence to a higher one, but either the soil was too hard and there was no one to put it up, or with the rains we have had in the last months everything is full of mud and nobody can work here. Right now the soil is in a perfect spot for this work, so we should take advantage of it, but the material and labor (2 days of work for 2 people) is still expensive all of a sudden for someone who has many mouths to feed and depends exclusively on his work.

To this "point of the earth" urgency there is another "biological" urgency. I'm going to be a mother for the 2nd time in about 3 months, so physically it's already complicated to always chase the little goats to come home, with a newborn at home (+ 1 brother of 2 years old) it will be crazy. So I would like VERY much to be able to put the fences in condition before the baby is born and be able to be calm at least with that part... The goats' shelter has 2 areas, 1 of them already with shelter, but there is another area where it will still have to be built, but each thing in its own time. Step 1 will be the fence and for that I need the indicated amount of money, including the necessary material and labor. To those who want to help in some way my best wishes.

O meu nome é Vera Silva, sou artista plástica e desde sempre apaixonada pela Natureza e animais.

Aos 15 anos resgatei o meu 1º cão e desde aí foram-se somando os animais que se cruzam no meu caminho.

Com 32 anos e devido ao número de animais que já tinha comigo, decidi arriscar tudo e iniciar um projecto de vida. Comprei um pedaço de terra em Mafra e é aqui que estou a criar a casa que os patudos que estão comigo merecem. Trouxe os cães e os gatos que tinha em Lisboa e a eles somaram-se animais de quinta, nomeadamente cabrinhas e aves.

Nunca tinha tido cabras e apesar de ser uma experiência incrível percebemos que elas são mais teimosas que nós, resumindo, não basta uma simples vedação, elas arranjam forma de saltar e ir comer aos únicos sítios onde não o devem fazer (jardim dos vizinhos). Ando desde o Verão passado a querer trocar a vedação para uma mais alta mas ou a terra estava muito rija e não havia quem a conseguisse colocar, ou com as chuvas que temos tido nos últimos meses está tudo cheio de lama e ninguém consegue trabalhar aqui. Neste momento a terra está num ponto perfeito para este trabalho, pelo que seria de aproveitar, mas o material e mão de obra (2 dias de trabalho para 2 pessoas) ainda fica dispendioso assim de repente para quem tem muitas boquinhas para alimentar e depende exclusivamente do seu trabalho.

A esta urgência do "ponto da terra" há outra urgência "biológica". Vou ser mãe pela 2ª vez daqui a uns 3 meses, pelo que fisicamente já começa a ser complicado andar sempre atrás das cabrinhas para voltarem para casa, com um recém nascido em casa (+ 1 mano de 2 anos) será loucura. Gostava por isso MUITO de conseguir colocar as vedações em condições antes do bebé nascer e conseguir estar tranquila pelo menos com essa parte... O abrigo das cabrinhas tem 2 zonas, 1 delas já com abrigo, mas há uma outra área onde ainda terá que se construir mas cada coisa a seu tempo. A etapa 1 será mesmo a cerca e para isso preciso da verba indicada já contando com material e mão de obra necessária. A quem quiser ajudar de alguma maneira o meu bem haja.
