Vegan Hair Care Formulator Needs Your Support

Hello Everyone, my name is S. Cody Victoria Brown and I am raising funds to help me continue to formulate vegan, all-natural, plant-based hair and skin care products, and bring them to market. I am a STEM Girl (a scientist) with 12+ years in the biotech, and life sciences industry doing work in proteomics. Unfortunately, on December 1, 2022, I lost my job which left me BBD (broke, busted, and disgusted). I am hoping you will open your hearts and help me get back on track.

After having a uterus full of fibroids that ruined my chance of ever having children, I began researching possible causes of the increase in uterine fibroid cases, ovarian cancer in women 60+, and breast cancer in women younger than 40. I learned that in addition to parabens and xenoestrogens, there are a host of other FDA-approved ingredients found in hair and skincare products that can be potentially harmful. It is important to me that everyone has the option to choose skin and hair care products that have quality ingredients. I also do not want other women - who want to have children – to end up childless like me. So, I started formulating clean, vegan, all-natural skin care products in June 2022 and supported my business with my full-time job until I lost it this past December.

Despite having an MSc in biotech, I keep getting rejected as the industry is now heavily saturated with open positions for genomic and clinical scientists (by the way, no matter how nice the call or email is, those rejections hurt bad!). Each day I dig deep, looking for a way to stay positive and keep the business going. This is why I’m asking for your help. The funds I raise will be specifically used for the completion of my website, to establish my domain, to purchase lab equipment and ingredients, to set up shipping accounts, and hire professional manufacturing and quality control testing services.
