I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but have rooted myself in North Carolina for over a decade now, consistently evidencing my dual commitment to agriculture and community. I holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where I studied biology with a concentration in botany. While in college, I enlisted in the Army Reserve; I served in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned a Purple Heart after he was wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED). After returning From war I found a new passion which was agriculture and giving my community access to healthy food. Farming is not just a job but its my therapy and tool to be able serve my country and tell my story. I Started OTL FARMS (OFF THE LAND FARMS) in 2016 while on lease land, in November of 2018 I finally had the opportunity to my own land.So I moved OTL Farms to a 42-acre property located in Laurinburg, NC where I grow Muscadine grapes, Blackberries and Vegetables. I am asking for your financial contribution to build my vegetable wash and pack shed. The cost of this project will be $65,000, this facility will allow me to be able to harvest, wash and package my product in one facility. This facility will also allow me to have cold storage on my farm which will allow me to be able to grow and harvest more at one time. Your support would mean the world to me and allow me to move closer to my goal of making sure my community have access to healthy food.
