Modified Vehicle for Jeunesse

Donation protected
Greetings Family, Friends, & Colleagues!

My name is Leah Anderson and, together with my husband Clinton, we're fundraising on behalf of our granddaughter, Jeunesse-Amélie Clouzet.

Jeunesse was born with Aicardi Syndrome, a rare seizure disorder that, among other disabilities, limits her ability to move on her own. Jeunesse is 5 years old and requires full-time care at home for all her needs. She needs help to move in and out of any vehicle. As Jeunesse grows, it is getting more and more difficult to move her in and out of her car seat. A larger vehicle is needed for her growing family (mom & dad, plus sister & new baby brother ❤) and to accommodate modifications so that Jeunesse can be either lifted or wheeled in and out of the vehicle on her wheelchair. In addition, it is necessary for Jeunesse to bring several large pieces of medical equipment with her whenever she goes on long family trips.

The Clouzet Family has saved up approximately $4,150 towards the purchase of this vehicle and is hoping to sell their current vehicle at around $8,000 to add to this tally. Thankfully, Jeunesse is on a Medicaid waiver which will cover up to $10,000 towards the vehicle modifications, which can easily total around $30,000. The Clouzets are also very grateful and honored to have been awarded $2,000 from the Sadie McCann Fund to cover a fraction of the costs.

The vehicle they are looking to purchase will most likely total around $50,000. The campaign goal is set to cover the costs of purchasing the vehicle, modifying it to fit Jeunesse's needs, and (if surpassed) provide seed money towards a fund to help maintain it throughout its expected mileage output (250,000+ mi).

The bulk of the vehicle funds would be needed by around Thanksgiving (Late Nov 2021) to facilitate the purchase of the vehicle, which will be needed by the first week of January 2022. Melissa Clouzet, Jeunesse's momma, will be going back to teach the choirs at Campion Academy and will need to make the daily commute with Jeunesse (as well as younger siblings Sophie & Léonide).

Modification funds could come at a later time but would be most welcome at around the same time the van is purchased since there are no job commitments during that time. Otherwise, while the vehicle is in for modifications, Melissa would need to have someone qualified come to their house and watch Jeunesse and her siblings every time she leaves to teach.

Having lived close to Jeunesse for three years, we can attest that having this modified vehicle would help Jeunesse's travel logistics be simplified in such a major way! Jeunesse's care is very specialized and thankfully, her momma is qualified to give it to her. However, she must be with Jeunesse at all times, whether it be at the grocery store, teaching choir, volunteering at a church function, or on a family outing to create beautiful memories. The ability to get Jeunesse in and out of a vehicle safely, efficiently, and effortlessly will help her family to attempt more of these activities with more frequency. Family and friends are supremely important to us and the Clouzets, and this vehicle will allow them to be able to visit with more frequency as well.

The Clouzet's current family income is not at a place where it would allow them to make such a large purchase without going into substantial debt. Our family would be eternally grateful to every individual that can give to this campaign. Thank you so much for helping Jeunesse! We are convinced that God has given us Jeunesse to daily show us His perfect plan of love and acceptance to this world ❤
