Transport for Ukrainian Women’s Bomb Disposal Team

Donation protected
For some women, taking their children and fleeing Ukraine wasn’t an option…

Some women chose to remain to keep their families together, to stay and support their husbands and partners.

Some women wanted to do all they could to give their children the chance of what so many of us take for granted: the chance of safety, security and play.

SO SOME INCREDIBLE WOMEN CHOSE BOMB DISPOSAL

As the Russians have retreated from some areas, communities have been littered with land mines, anti-tank mines and other unexploded munitions. These devices are in remote locations, in villages, gardens, schools and playgrounds.

Friends of Ukraine - EOD are a charity based in the Channel Islands who are helping these women by supporting their training, but once these devices have been disarmed they need to be removed to a safe location.

We are looking to raise money for a fleet of vehicles that can be used in remote locations to transport the disposal experts, equipment and defused ordinance - it’s as simple as that!

Where we come in:

Mark Cashley has become involved with the charity through his work in the Ukraine. You can find out more here. He will be working with the Ukrainian Police alongside these extraordinary women and will report back on progress and the ongoing usage of the vehicles.
