Velvet Curtain Productions

We are a non-profit, college led theater organization made to produce dream shows for young artists in the valley and to give back to theaters who helped shape us into the people we are today.

Velvet Curtain Productions was started by longtime theater performers Landon Kalin and Jazlynn Damasco.

Landon started theater in 7th grade as Flounder in the Little Mermaid at Exploiter Middle School. Since then, he went on to start community theater at DST and from then went on to shows at many theaters around the Valley: Spotlight, CYT, MET, AYT, Inspire, and ABT. He has received an AriZoni Award for Grover in the Lightning Thief 2021-2022, had the pleasure of being in the AZ premiere of hit social media musical Ride the Cyclone, and was recently seen as Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at MET. He acknowledges the opportunities that he has received from the theaters he has performed at and how they shaped him into the person he is today. To be able to create dream shows for kids while giving back to theaters that initiated his spark is his ultimate goal.

Jazlynn started out doing summer camps at the Arizona Broadway Theatre and soon became immersed in the world of live theater. Since then, she has been honored to have performed in many productions in the valley. Some favorite past credits include: Emma Borden in Lizzie (SYT), Valerie Husk in The Consoling Mechanism (PT), Sister Mary Stevens in Sister Act (ABT), #13 in The Wolves (SYT), Mulan in Mulan Jr. (SYT - Zoni and NYA Nom). Jazlynn has also had the privilege of making her directorial debut in Playfest ’23 (SYT). Now that she has aged out of youth theater, she hopes to let other kids and young adults feel the same spark she once did that initiated her love of theater.

Since we are a non-profit, we need your help! In order to do these shows that kids have been dreaming to do across the valley, we need a boost. All of the proceeds donated and funds raised would go to paying for rights, costumes, lighting, set, rental spaces, donations back to theaters, and paying the creative teams associated with each production. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated!
