Vendela to get legal representation

Hi, I am Maria Smedberg MacKinnell, mother of Vendela Knoll. My husband, William Stuart MacKinnell, (Stepfather) and I are trying to help our 15 1/2 year old daughter, raise enough money to assist her in securing legal representation in court. 

Our daughter, on her own, has petitioned the court to change the court ordered custody agreement that has been in place for 6 years, which gives her father sole legal and physical custody of her. She wants to change it giving her mother, the sole, legal and physical custody of her.  The court, in record time, has seemed fit to approve the petition and has set a trial date of October 4th 2022.

Unfortunately, if we can’t secure an attorney soon to represent her and to review all the facts, including setting up what will be a long list of witnesses, that will support her attempt to change the court order, we will be forced to ask for a continuance of several months.

A change is vital for her mental, emotional and physical well-being. She needs peace and guidance to be able to focus on school and find balance.

It has been impossible to find a pro bono lawyer to represent her. And all recommended lawyers ask for a retainer fee to take on her case. We are trying to raise a $10,000.00 retainer. Anything you can consider donate will help towards her getting a lawyer to represent her in court! 10/02/22 Update for go fund me for Legal representation for Vendela. The court hearing scheduled for October 4th has been postponed. Vendelas dad hasn’t responded to the writ of summons. The original court date was determined before Vendelas dad was served. We have a lawyer trying to negotiate temporary improvement for Vendela while waiting for a new court hearing date. We’ll keep the go fund me page open until we have a new court date and have more information to share.
