Who are we?

Dreams of Venus is composed of a couple based in southern California, aged 22 years old. We have been passionate about music from a young age, and enjoy exploring and blending different genres of music. Abby has been singing her entire life and has been a part of highschool choirs, and is a classically trained vocalist. Daryuish is an instrumentalist who first started learning piano at the age of 3, then violin at the age of 7.

The Music Video:

Our song Ventura Highway centers around the struggle of moving on from a past lover. Our music video will explore the inner monologue and the personifications of the feelings one may go through post-breakup. Our story plants the character face to face with conflicting feelings of whether or not she should move on with her life or return to her past lover and try again.

The Song:

Our song ‘Ventura Highway’ is musically inspired by artists like Joji, Matt Maltese, Olivia Rodrigo, and Radiohead, and attempts to blend a more modern approach to Indie pop with some of the sad rock elements of the 70s and 80s. We are very proud of the final mix and can’t wait to share the full version with you.

Locations: Our project demands two specific locations that aren't readily available to the public - a performance theater and a studio featuring a cyclorama wall. Your support will help us cover the costs of securing these venues.

Equipment and Rentals: We require specialized equipment to achieve some of the shots we want in our project. Your donations will enable us to rent lenses, lighting gear, and other equipment necessary to elevate the visuals in our video.

Props, Costume, and Set Design: Your contributions will help us acquire props, costumes, and set pieces to build the world within our song.

Crafty and Catering: Your support will help us provide craft services and catering to a crew of approximately 25 individuals.
