Brody’s Fund

Thank you for taking the time to visit Brody’s Fundraiser Page.
Brody is just 8 years old. He’s a pupil at Ysgol Cae’r Nant and lives in Connah’s Quay. His life has barely begun, and right now he should be enjoying what’s left of his Easter holidays.
Instead, his time has been spent at Alder Hay, and his family have just received the devastating news that Brody has been diagnosed with Leukoaraiosis. (White matter disease).
White matter disease is the wearing away of tissue in the largest and deepest part of the brain. This tissue contains millions of nerve fibers, or axons, that connect other parts of the brain and spinal cord and signal your nerves to talk to one another.
Three quarters of Brody’s brain has already been infected and it’s all the way down his spine.
Brody has currently lost the ability to have a conversation, go to the toilet unaided and walk.
It is a cruel progressive disease that is incurable.
We know there isn’t enough money in the world to make this better, but taking away the financial burden of endless traveling costs to Alder Hay and other expenses during the next phase of Brody’s life will certainly make life easier. Allowing time to concentrate on the more important things and making memories.
We know Chris has longed to take Brody and his big sister Macy to Disneyland Paris and if this is at all possible, we could also help make this a dream come true.
Every donation, big or small will make a difference.
A wholehearted Thank You from Brody’s Family and friends.
