FPW helps Verlensky beat cancer #ONEWALLER
Doação protegida
To the Florida Pitt Waller Community:
One of our dear students, Verlensky Siffrain, has been diagnosed with a rare cancer, called Osteosarcoma. The FPW community wants to support him and his family. After many weeks at a time of rigorous chemotherapy, Verlensky finds his greatest moments returning to school to be with his siblings, friends and teachers. The Siffrain family and Verlensky are incredibly kind, generous, and humble. The Siffrain family did not ask for anything except well wishes and prayers. As #OneWaller family, we support each other in our times of need. We will be raising money to support the Siffrain family and alleviate any financial stress as Verlensky beats cancer. This will allow them to take time off work to get Verlensky to and from his chemotherapy appointments and the time it will take for Verlenskys rehabilitation process after his leg is surgically amputated. As Educators and Parents, we will climb mountains and swim overseas to support our children. We want the Siffrain family to know we are in this fight together because WE ARE #ONEWALLER!
Verlensky has a total of 9 consecutive years invested in the FPW Family, starting FPW in ECE. He is one our ours.
Lets hear from staff and students about who Verlensky is...
-Juderlin Ziphirin- (childhood best friend)
Verlensky is the kind of friend that makes everything an adventure. He always makes things as exciting as possible. He is a humorous and funny friend. He is also very caring. In kindergarten, me, another friend, and Verlensky wanted to race together, and the winner would get a jolly rancher. While I was racing, I slipped over a pothole. Verlensky stopped running and made sure I was okay. My other friend never stopped though. He will always care for your well-being. We were in church, and the pastor was preaching. We were bored, so Verlensky started to tell the battle of god and the devil. I was so gripped by the story that I didn't even know when the pastor was done preaching. He is the most interesting guy ever! Verlensky has a little brother named Verlensly. They are almost the exact same! The only difference is that Verlensly is always smiling, he is never sad! He is always a good way to cheer you up when you feel down.
V is the best friend you can ever ask for.
-Mrs. Holmes (Kindergarten Teacher)
I had the pleasure of teaching Verlensky during my first year of teaching- he was in kindergarten. Verlensky always came in the door with a big smile and great energy, the same way he is now! Even as a kindergartner, he was already a hard worker, was very persistent and a great writer. His writing blew me away! His nickname in class was "V!" When I got the pleasure of teaching his brother Verlensly, Verlensky became "V the OG" and Verlensly "V the remix". Following in the steps and being incredibly amazing like his big birther Verlensky.
-Ms. Gabel (First Grade Teacher)
I had Verlensky when he was in first grade. I feel so privileged to have had him in my class, he was always optimistic, brave and compassionate. His encouragement to others made him shine bright in first grade. He always made me laugh and gave the best hugs!!
-Mrs. Jackson (6th Grade LA Teacher)
As Verlensky's 6th grade language arts teacher I can say that it was an absolute pleasure to have him in my class. His smile brightens everyone's day. He worked hard and never gave up. I am truly blessed to have encountered such a wonderful young man. I wish him the best in his recovery.
-Mr. Thumann (7th Grade Social Studies)
The world would be a better place if we had more people like Verlensky in it. Verlensky is one of the kindest, happiest, most intelligent, and caring human beings that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Through all of his adversity he always has a positive attitude and a huge smile on his face. In class, Verlensky is never afraid to share and help others. Other students admire him and look up to him. The world needs more people like Verlensky.
-Mr. Moody (Middle School Interventionist)
Verlensky is one of the best students I've ever had in my intervention class. He came to class every day with a positive attitude and worked hard, setting an example that made everyone around him better. At the end of the school year when we did our Passion Project, Verlensky chose to present about Mr. Beast, the youtuber, and the class hung on his every word. I know that Verlensky will keep the same positive attitude and show the same determination that I saw in class no matter the challenge.
-Mrs. Kaeli (School Social Worker)
Verlensky is always such a respectful, kind student no matter what he is going through. He always wants to be involved in what is occurring at school and never lets his circumstances get him down.
-Mrs. Leola (Dean of Culture)
I've been with Verlensky since he started at FPW 9 years ago. I've watched him grow into such a wonderful young man. Last year when he was in the 6th grade, I told him I wished I could clone him 100 times because he is such an amazing person. A smile that will brighten up your whole day. A spirit that gives you hope. To his peers, he is the kind of friend that only comes once in a lifetime. Watching him come every week with a big smile after a week of chemotherapy makes me grateful for life. He takes every day and makes it a great one, no matter what.
-Marie Rosma (Family Friend/Church Family)
Verlensky is the first born at Agape Haitian SDA Church. I have the opportunity to teach "V" in Sabbath school on Saturdays. Verlensky is an Adventurer Warrior at our Church. Whenever we have Children / Adventurer Day, if you want to make "V" happy, ask him to read a bible verse during service or ask him to carry the Adventurer flag. He always has the most beautiful smile on his face, and never picks on the other kids. He is the kindest and the most respectful kid that I know. We love "V" so much and we are praying for a miracle
