Vermont Afghan Alliance

My name is Dan Barkhuff, and I'm fundraising for a brand new nonprofit 501c3 named the "Vermont Afghan Alliance." The President and Founder Wazir Hashimi has authorized this fundraising initiative for the VAA, which I helped create. VAA is a local nonprofit run by Afghans who have recently immigrated to Vermont for Afghans who have recently immigrated to Vermont. New immigrants have a number of serious challenges in coming to the Green Mountain State. While housing and basic healthcare are given to them, there is not an agency to help with vital but uncovered services like obtaining driver's licenses, English lessons, assistance applying for jobs, and perhaps most importantly, a designated community space to come together for traditional holidays, gatherings, and religious services. Any donation to VAA will go 100% directly towards this goal. VAA has no employees and the founders (myself included) will not receive any financial compensation for this effort. All funding will go directly to VAA's mission.
