We are the Vermont Association of the Deaf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and Vancro Integrated Interpreting Services, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, and together we are working hard to support the Deaf community by decreasing the communication access disparities they are faced with.
Ever since its foundation, the Yolande Henry Community Fund has been securing funds to provide interpreters for Deaf individuals at meaningful events that are not covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Yolande was a tireless advocate for equal access in Vermont.
We are currently planning to expand our provision of interpreters for Deaf individuals which will support inclusivity in Vermont. There is a long-standing need for interpretation at events which are not covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Some of the events this fund has covered have been weddings, birthday parties, family meetings, and social gatherings. That is why we are asking for your help. With the assistance of your resources and as a local business and a member of the community, together we could make an incredible difference.
Would you be willing to make a monetary donation to help our cause? We would be happy to thank you publicly, by putting your company’s name on our website in exchange to show how much we appreciate your contribution to this important cause. We will provide you with documentation of your tax-deductible donation.
If you’d like to support our efforts please feel free to donate! If you would like to receive a letter for proof of donation for tax purposes please email yhcf@vancro.com. We are always available to answer questions. Send us an email.
