Vernon Weatherford

First and foremost I want to thank the community for the outpouring comments, continued prayers, and praise of my beloved dad, Vernon Weatherford.

I never imagined I would be on this side of a fundraiser and it comes with great heartbreak that I am. On Sunday evening 08/06/23 we lost my dad in, Vernon, in a tragic drowning accident.

This has left a huge hole in our families hearts and a very empty space in the community. My dad didn’t know a stranger! If you ever found yourself on Selkirk Island when he was around you’d without a doubt hear “Hey man!” or “Let me tell you about something!” and he’d talk as long as you’d let him.

He was BIG personality and giving soul. people that knew him knew he was selfless, giving, kindhearted, and hilarious. He lived life with a fire that you rarely encounter. 

My dad’s unexpected passing has not only left us with an immense amount of grief… but expenses as well. Without the rock of our family and preparing to lay him to rest comes expenses.

We have received SO much love and also questions about how we will move forward. We have decided it would be best if I created a Gofundme.

My mom, brothers, and I are taking a pause at work to travel and be with one another. Please pray for our family, first and foremost. If you are in a position to to donate financially, we greatly appreciate it.

Any financial help will be used to help us and most of all my mother, with extra expenses and necessities that we are facing in the upcoming weeks and months.

Thank you everyone for all the love and support that has been coming our way already. We see the love that Vernon put out into the world coming back tenfold.
