Veronica Anderson UCT Student in Car Accident
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Joann Lebherz and I am Veronica Anderson's Educational Advocate/Tutor. I have known this beautiful young lady since she was beginning 8th grade. Veronica and her boyfriend Mason both Juniors from Upper Cape Tech and two other students, were traveling on 6A on Wednesday, November 10th and were hit by a driver entering 6A from Old Country Road around 6:00pm in Sandwich. Both airbags went off in the car that Veronica was a passenger in but her airbag, "went off like a bomb", as described and shot metal and debris into her face and her right eye. Veronica was transported to South Shore Hospital and then transported to Mass. Eye and Ear I learned, that as of Saturday night, as I texted her mother Alison, she had already had surgery on her right eye to remove a large piece of metal and has had the first of many plastic surgery's to repair the many wounds on her face from the exploding air bag. Veronica's left eye is swollen shut and she could not see as of Saturday Night. She came home today and her mother, Alison McIntyre who is a manager at Ferguson's Bath Kitchen and Lighting Gallery in Mashpee will have to care for her in the coming months as she convalesces and continues to have surgeries to repair her right eye in hopes to get her vison back and to repair the damage to her face. As you can see from the photo, she is a beautiful young lady that I am so proud of. She excels in the Vet. Tech program at UCT and is one of the most compassionate and driven students in the program. I am asking all who know Veronica and her family from Falmouth and Sandwich and the students and their families from Upper Cape Tech if they could donate to the family in this stressful, painful and financial devastating time to help this family in Veronica's recovery. Any amount would be greatly appreciated as well as meals and cards for well wishes. Thank you so much for reading.
