Veronica Young - Interlochen Musical Development

My name is Veronica.  I am a 15 year-old aspiring classical vocalist.  I fell in love with classical singing the first time I sang “Once in Royal David’s City” in church. I have trained and worked hard to improve my vocal performance over the past few years, with some notable success on the way.  I was the Houston 9th Grade Classical NATS First Place Vocalist last year.   I was invited to sing with the Piping Rock Singers (Baroque Music Choir) and the UST Choir and I was admitted to the Performing and Visual Arts High School this year.  I have advanced to the national competition level for Classical Vocalists in Washington DC this May.  Now, I am being given an opportunity to grow through summer programs that are beyond the reach of our family. My parents are not able to afford these programs and associated travel.  I have applied for grants and scholarships, but we are unsure of the results at this time.  With two sisters who are also chasing dreams my parents and grandparents can only support me so much.  So, I come to ask, humbly, for support, both financial and in prayer for my continued growth and development as a singer.  These summer programs are intensive and life changing, and I want to experience all that music has to offer!  Please consider supporting me if you can.  These donations will be used to fund tuition and travel for summer vocal training programs and competitions.   Edited: some scholarship money has come in!!
