Vet bills for Chloe, shot and killed by police

Early Thursday March 18, 2021 Police showed up at my home looking for a friend of my sons, who does not reside at my residents. When they showed up at the front door,  i let my dog Chloe out the back door as i always do, not knowing they also had 2 police officers in my backyard.  My dog Chloe then ran up too one of the officers and was shot and killed by the police. She did not attack or bite any of the officers but was shot. She was rushed to the vet,  where we were later told she did not make it.  I am now being asked to pay a $3000.00 vet bill as well as extra cost if i want to take her home  or have her cremated. Just looking for some help in paying the vet bills as this tragic situation could have been avoided.  Me and my family are so heart broken, she was a loving and sweet dog who would have never hurt anyone.
