Vet bills for our Kitten Oreo
Donation protected
Hi, Jack and Jodie here.
Update:
We are devastated to say that Oreo has passed. We are so grateful to everyone for their generosity. Though this wasn't the outcome we hoped for we have still been faced with a significant bill (£1330) so we will be using donations to help us cover the cost of Oreo's care. We'll leave this open for the time being in case anyone still feels able to help, even Oreo is no longer with us. He was the absolute sweetest little boy, and he was so loved. We're heartbroken x

We're raising funds to help pay towards the vet bills and treatment of our 8 week old kitten, Oreo. Thursday night (10/04/2025), Oreo suddenly developed respiratory issues and after being taken into the out of hours vets he was found to have fluid on his lungs and he was in a critical condition. After being admitted to intensive care and in an incubator through the night on oxygen he is a bit stronger today, and it is looking like he will pull through. We are hoping that if he continues to improve, we will be able to bring him home in the next few days and give him all the love he deserves.
We are so thankful for the team of vets at our local surgery for treating and caring for him, without whom he would not have survived the night. Unfortunately, as Oreo is a new member of our family, we have yet to set up pet insurance for him and we expect the bills to be vast. We have put down a deposit of £600 last night in order to cover his initial care, however it is likely that we will need to pay a lot more towards the costs of further nights admitted at the vets, any tests and procedures he may need and ongoing medical treatments. We do not have an official diagnosis as if yet, as they are still running tests.
We have thankfully been in a privileged position where we have never needed to ask for support before with regards to the care of our pets etcetera, and it is not easy to do so now, however we have a young family, and we are conscious that we could be looking at a very steep bill to ensure Oreo has everything he needs. We know how tough times are at the moment and there is zero obligation but if you are able to spare anything at all by way of a donation towards Oreo's vet fees, then it would be very gratefully received by us both.
We are not expecting to be able to raise enough to cover the full amount, and we will do whatever Oreo needs regardless, but any support you can give to bring the costs down is so so helpful to us and we will appreciate every penny and won't forgot your kindness in this.
Thank you all, Jack and Jodie
