Vet Bills for Rescue Dogs: Emma, Willa & Kota
Tax deductible
At Lighthouse Animal Shelter, we rescue adult & senior dogs from euthanasia lists in southern states that would otherwise have no chance. 95% of the dogs in our care were at some point on a death row list.
Meet Willa, Emma & Kota: 3 sweet senior dogs who have needed extensive veterinary care on top of our expected spay/neuters, heartworm tests, and vaccines.
These girls needed senior wellness panels, follow-up bloodwork, growth removal, radiographs, antibiotics for tickborne illnesses, eye meds, 2/3 dogs needed heartworm treatment, and we're looking at an upcoming very expensive dental procedure for Miss Kota.
Our adoption fees rarely cover the cost of care that we provide for a young/adult dog. For a senior dog, their fee NEVER covers the cost of the care that we provide them with. For Emma alone, Lighthouse spent $1,009.66 on her medical. Our adoption fee for senior dogs is $250.
Please consider donating to cover these bills so we can restore our emergency veterinary fund and continue to rescue more dogs that need our help
This is Willa's total not even including her heartworm treatment:
