Vet Care for Abandoned Dog Family
Donation protected
I'm fundraising on behalf of a family of dogs who were abandoned by their owners. Puppies were found muddy, cold, and wandering the streets. They were followed back to a condemned home where more puppies and a mother dog and father dog were taking "shelter" on an exposed porch. This is sadly not a shocking story as it happens on a regular basis where I live, in Lake County, CA. That being said, I'm one who can't unsee a need and frequently make an effort to help, despite not having many resources myself. This case was no exception. I couldn't leave them in the condition they were in, and took all 8 puppies and parents home. The forecast was showing snow (which it ended up snowing later that day), so I felt it was even more imperative to get them in a safe and warm place to be. Logistics always come later for me, as I couldn't just leave them because of lack of personal resources I know as a community, we can gather, to get these babies the care they desperately need.
I am gathering funds for: vetting, food, and supplies for 8 puppies and 2 adult dogs. So far, I've: vaccinated all puppies and adults, bathed all puppies, got the male dog who was "skunked" a bath with a professional groomer, and have been ensuring they are being fed a high quality diet as they were (and still are) underweight. Mom dog is currently in heat, so getting her into the vet to be spayed is one of my top priorities. The male dog also needs to be neutered asap. Puppies still need to be dewormed, which I'm planning on doing today 3/7/24, but I've already blown through was limited funds I have trying to get them settled.
If anybody can help this family of dogs finally get the care they desperately need and deserve, it would mean so much to me. Or if anybody is open to adopting a puppy or parents please let me know. Adoption questions will need to be answered as it's imperative they go to a home that will not fail them again. They have already been through so much. Vet care will be done at Animal Hospital of Lake County, under "Nicole Betsill" if anybody wants to make direct donations towards vet care rather than GFM. For more immediate help, I also have PayPal [email redacted] and Venmo @creativecatnetwork. I typically rescue cats if you can't tell lol. However, any soul in need will not be ignored by me .
