Vet costs for Rex
Donation protected
Rex is our 8 year old Shepherd Mix who Austin rescued at 8 weeks old. He, along with his siblings were transported from Georgia all the way to Maine and we’re so happy they were. Rex has been touching people’s lives ever since. Especially, he has been extremely important to his dad, Austin, and has been there for all of the 1sts of his adult life. College parties, 1st apartments, relationships, and all the ins and outs that life has to offer. Rex is also very special to his mom, Haley, who came into his life around the time Rex turned a year old. Since then, they lived their life to the fullest and have managed to travel and make the most of all that life has to offer. We recently received blood work back from his vet that his calcium levels were higher than normal, so we brought him in for further examination. During the exam they discovered two masses, one on his anal gland and the other on a lymph node in his abdomen. They believe with surgery they will be able to give him a few more good years with a good quality of life. With this coming up in just a few days of time we find ourselves not finically prepared to help get Rex through his treatment. We have a long road ahead of us with treatment and the possibility of chemo. We appreciate any and all types of support during this difficult time.
Update: Rex had a successful operation to remove both masses from his body! He is currently recovering and being monitored. His calcium levels are still high but they believe they’ll come down in the next few days if he continues to recover well! We will get to see him Monday and talk to the doctors about his recovery plan. Thank you all for your support!
