Transitional Housing for Veteran Joshua Dover
Joshua was involved in a major motorcycle crash in August 2020 in Southern Oregon. He had a punctured aorta, traumatic brain injury, broken facial bones, broken ribs, broken vertebrae, broken arm and wrist, injury to shoulders, broken thumb, broken hip, injured shoulder, and third degree burns on stomach. (Sadly after his hip surgery, his ball joint got necrosis and recently he had to get hip joint replacement surgery.)
Joshua spent six weeks in the hospital and moved into someones home. Joshua had to move out on 2/1/2021. The VA and a VET organization said they would make sure that Joshua was not left homeless, but they did not come through. Funds are needed to cover the expenses.
Cottage Rental (6 weeks): $2,640
(Update-Praise God, the owners of the cottage gave us an additional discount. The full retail price is $6,380. They then discounted it to $3,540. Then they discounted it again. Unbelievable.)
(A relative is providing housing for the last two weeks in Arkansas.)
Joshua's father (Richard) is taking unpaid leave of absence from work in Arkansas to be Joshua's caregiver for eight weeks in Oregon and at least1 week in Arkansas.
Loss of Income: $3,240
Car rental: $1,800
Handicap and Medical Equipment: $200
Total Expenses: $7,880
Thankfully airfare is covered through someone donating airline mileage.
