Vet unit expansion for Faith Animal Rescue

F.A.I.T.H Animal Rescue - Room to grow campaign.

We would like to ask for assistance or investment through your generous donations for Faith Animal Rescue to be able to fund its own in house Vet unit to expand on the level of animal care currently able to provide. Our vet bills are huge! Through studies and planning we have calculated that having an in house vet unit with our own vets working to the non profit charity standard will reduce our Veterinarian costs year on year allowing us to spend our already tight funds in other areas.

FAITH Animal Rescue's mission:
To provide a rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing service for abandoned, ill-treated, unwanted and otherwise homeless animals. To care for them in social accommodation, wherever possible with communal exercise areas. To strive to reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs by ensuring those in our care are neutered, and encouraging other owners to do the same.

FAITH’s work, intake and rehoming of animals has grown enormously, there is a great need for more room to continue as such a busy rescue centre.

Our Veterinary Unit will allow many more animals to be saved. This “Room to Grow” page has been set up to raise funds towards the cost of building and equipping the unit.

Details of Veterinary costs are listed and land cost is £160,000. This seems a lot to aim for but it is in fact only a tiny fraction of what is donated regularly to any large animal rescue organisation. FAITH is a grassroots rescue, no waste with time, money or staff.

Please join us in making a difference. We raising money to benefit FAITH Animal Rescue and all the animals in our care, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

As you can see the costs are quite considerable, especially to a smaller, independent rescue such as ours. We strongly believe that by building our own vet unit to give immediate and ongoing care to all the animals we look after and rehome  year on year will majorly benefit the animals and will eventually pay for itself by having our own facility.

More about Faith Animal Rescue:

F.A.I.T.H. is a progressive animal rescue centre, where animal welfare comes first. We believe that their mental health and wellbeing are as important as their physical health.

Dogs are sociable animals so we have kennels where it is possible for the dogs to socialise and play together. You won’t see rows and rows of lonely stressed animals kennelled in isolation, as is often the case when visiting rescue centres, although we do have an isolation block for dogs awaiting health check clearance and veterinary treatment.

We also have a communal cat house which offers ‘home-from-home’ comforts with sofas, chairs, shelving with hidey holes and a large meshed run with climbing frame, a water feature and toys. We also have isolation cabins for those needing or preferring separate accommodation. These are state of the art enclosed in inclement weather and open sided when weather is fine. Cats are vaccinated not only against flu and enteritis, but also leukaemia.

We have a FULL neutering policy which includes all female puppies and kittens too. Young males are given a neutering certificate which is acted upon at five months of age. All dogs and cats are wormed, vaccinated and micro chipped, and most leave with four weeks free pet insurance. Home checks are also carried out before anyone is allowed to adopt an animal.

We have a non-destruction policy, with exception to end suffering and then only on veterinary advice. No animal is “put to sleep” simply because it’s too old, too naughty or too difficult. If it’s age or behaviour make it impossible to re-home satisfactorily, then it will remain at F.A.I.T.H. for the rest of it’s life.

The bulk of our work is with cats and dogs, but we have and help anything from hamsters to horses.

All photos on this page are animals that have been in our care over the last year.
