Veteran Fighting Stage 4 Colon and Liver Cancer

Donation protected
Ed is an honorably discharged Air Force veteran with Stage 4 Cancer at several organs.  He has been self employed as a truck driver for several years now. This is a picture of the family.

About 3 months ago, Ed began to suffer with what he thought was just a nagging cough.  That cough quickly developed into problems breathing.  After checking into the hospital to investigate the cough, it was discovered that Ed has Stage 4 Colon Cancer with metastasis to his Kidney, Lung and Liver with suspect spotting on his bones.

Chemo has started and will continue for an extended period of time.  Ed was initially released to go home for further treatment, but as of this writing, he is back in the hospital for pneumonia.  Ed is the bread winner of the family and has not worked for over 3 months now.  His wife, LaShonda has been working 2 part-time jobs (about 75 hours per week) to attempt to make ends meet.

The families resources have been depleted in the past 60 days with things such as living expenses, medical bills and basics such as food and medicine not being able to be covered by the family and friends.  In fact, Lashonda is unable to care for Ed due to having to work both day and night.

The funds will be used to cover all of those expenses.  This will be at least a 1 year ordeal and the family is at zero in just 60 days.  The medical expenses will continue along with living expenses.  If LaShonda is to continue to work, Ed will need a nurse a few days per week.

The couple has a 18 year old in college and the family has not even began to think of how to send him back for the upcoming year due to costs.  This family has never used GoFundme before and didn't even know that it existed.  All donations of even $1 will be spent towards Eds medical expenses and living expenses such as shelter, food, medical treatment, medications and other costs.  No donation is too small to be considered a generous blessing from one to another.

This is urgent as the family is now depleted of resources as Eds is hospitalized yet again will not be able to work for at least the next year.   Ed is a proud man and this campaign request has further humbled both Ed and his family.  He is hospitalized in Baltimore, MD.

As the writer of this request and closest friend of Ed and LaShonda, I can say that they of some of the finest people I have ever known.
