Veteran, mechanic, and minister Richard Ames

My name is Bob Matetich. I am writing on behalf of my brother-in-law Richard Ames, age 73, Air Force Veteran, PTSD and depression sufferer, minister, and retired motorcycle mechanic.

Richard is in dire need of help to stay in the house that has been his sole residence since 2008. In 2008 he moved in with his mother, Lois Ames, to take care of her. She fell in 2020, was admitted to a nursing care facility, and passed away there in 2022, leaving him with $56,000 in unpaid medical bills and a will bestowing him with the home.

Since extended unemployment and 100% disability have left him without savings he cannot pay the bill, and the house will be sold by the court to pay it. Richard will be evicted from his home which has been in the family since 1923, leaving him and his wife Cindy homeless. This is the cause of his debt which is due on Thursday, July 27.

We can’t let this happen to a good man who fought for this country, has paid for that service ever since struggling with PTSD, and cared for his mother in her final days. Your generous contribution will go to this worthy cause. Thank you and God bless.
