USMC Veteran, father trying to avoid homelessness

Hi, my name is Everett, and I’m a disabled USMC Veteran and recently divorced father. I tried to make things work here in California to be there for my son as he grows, but with the cost of living and on a fixed income, I have come to reluctantly accept, I can no longer afford to live here near him. I recently lost my job, and even then, I couldn't keep up with the cost of living. I have been late on rent and have decided to move to TN, as my cost of living will be within my monthly income.
I have waited too long to do this as it has been extremely difficult to accept that this is an opportunity to start from scratch, save and build back, to be in a position to achieve my goals in and be able to show my son that in a difficult time, his father never gave up and made something of it.
I am a disabled Vet, selling off unnecessary possessions and actively looking for any work just to be able to afford food, gas and family expenses. I will be evicted in the coming months and am scrambling to make ends meet.If I am able to raise this money, it will go to the cost of travel and being able to secure a rental property. the smallest Uhaul that is available will cost +$3k.
I have gone through years of therapy, worked through many mental health challenges, and always strived to be the best father I could be for my son. I have struggled with anxiety depression and PTSD, and am proud to say that even at this time of crisis, I have used my tools to stay healthy and work through these challenges and I will not let those thoughts overwhelm me. I am positive that I can overcome this and know that sometimes doing the uncomfortable thing is needed.
Today, I face a challenge that I have struggled with the most: asking for your help.
