"Recovery Through The Arts"

 

The "Veterans Art Initiative" is starting in the city of London by Local Artist James Agesen and will be expanding from there. It's an
arts program that is designed for people who have served their country; Military and Emergency Workers. Those who serve their country do it proudly and selflessly. Unfortunately a life of service usually comes with a price; in the form of mental or physical disabilities. I believe that the arts can provide a release or possibly therapy for those suffering the aftermath of such dedication.

 

The program I am starting provides a basic set of art supplies or writing materials and access to instruction videos online to those who wish to participate. Their work will include a brief story about the artist, poet, or writer and their work in a physical gallery and or online galleries and or stores for sale.

 

Funding 80% of sale of the artwork goes back to the originator and 20% will go back into the Veterans Art Initiative program. The 20% is for materials and marketing. We are going to be eventually self sufficient depending on the growth rate. The benefits will be twofold, a emotional release and possibly sugnificant income for the participant's and education and a appreciation for the end buyers.

 

The board of directors will consist of local artists within the community to allow for direct support to our participants.
