Lee's Medical Expenses

Hi, we are the McFaddin family and we're fundraising for our dear friends Kara and Lee Lewis.

In 2018 Lee’s world was turned upside down. Lee, a hardworking, healthy, and former collegiate athlete (basketball player and Triple Jumper at California State University Stanislaus), was diagnosed with Valley Fever and was hospitalized for over a month. During that month he suffered four mini strokes. 2018 was the start of his medical rollercoaster. In December of 2020, Lee suffered a heart attack and had two stents inserted. About a year later, in November 2021, he had a brain biopsy due to a benign tumor that is inoperable. One month later, Lee was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had surgery. Since then, Lee’s been in remission and on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, in April of 2022, he had a stroke on his right side causing no mobility on the left side, speech impairment, memory loss and is unable to do his day-to-day tasks without assistance. Lee is in need of around-the-clock care but does not qualify for in-home support through the state. Kara, Lee’s Wife, has been paying for all medical and in-home care expenses out of pocket as well as taking care of him while working a full time job. It’s come to the point where they don’t know how they will continue paying for in-home support services and their mortgage. We’re asking for support from friends, family, and our community to please financially help Kara and Lee get through this difficult time. Lee is a fighter and he’ll continue to do so!
