Ambulance Crash
Donation protected
On October 24th 2023, an AMR Waterbury division ambulance was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The Ambulance is one of two 24-hour cars assigned to provide coverage to the town of Farmington. The ambulance was struck on the passenger side by a speeding vehicle, the impact was so great it caused the ambulance to roll over, intrusion into the passenger compartment and both crew members to be extricated. Paramedic Collin Hessberger and EMT Caitlin Abrantes were lucky to survive.
Paramedic Hessberger and EMT Abrantes were transported to the hospital, both sustaining multiple injuries. Both Collin and Caitlin have worked for AMR Waterbury for several years and dedicate their lives to saving others. Because of this accident, both will be out of work for an extended period of time as they face this long road to recovery and they will need any and all help we can provide them.
All donations received will be split between the Hessberger and Abrantes families to help offset the daily cost of living, medical expenses and lack of income as they both recover from this unavoidable accident. Thank You for your Help!
