Romalice & Jamal Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
The RAHS family lost two students this year to gun violence and we'd like to set up a scholarship fund in their honor.
Romalice, who was 20, had a playful spirit and lighthearted nature which warmed the lives of many. Just a few credits shy of graduation, Romalice had committed himself to graduating and pursuing a trade. Above all, he wanted to make his mom proud.
Jamal was just 16 when he passed. He was incredibly bright, reading several levels above his grade. He was also especially observant, always watching and listening to those around him. He loved to have fun, joking around with friends and cracking his unforgettable smile. Jamal, like Romalice, grew up around violence, losing several family members and friends as a child. He will be missed.
We'll never be able to get back these two young men. But with your help we'll be able to honor their memory by investing in the future of their fellow classmates, and thus the future of New Orleans. On June 19th, we'll award a scholarship to one of our 2015 graduates in order to pursue their post-secondary education.
