Meet the McLean family.

Megan, her handsome son Jackson, and her sweet daughter, Mayellen.

Anyone who has ever met Megan or spent any time around her knows she is always upbeat and wearing a contagious smile! She has spent much of her life being selfless and helping others, and now Megan and her family find themselves in need of the same type of love that she has given so freely.

As many of you may know, Megan was diagnosed with aggressive hormone receptive breast cancer in September 2014 after going through a surgical biopsy turned lumpectomy because of the amount of cancer found that was not shown from all the other tests. That was the first of two lumpectomies performed. During the second lumpectomy in 2015, they also removed 8 to 12 lymph nodes because the cancer had spread. After six rounds of chemo and thirty-five rounds of radiation she was cancer free in October 2015.

In December 2016, she was back in surgery for a hysterectomy to remove a large cyst growing inside her right ovary.  After a month of healing and checkups, a cancerous mass was discovered in February this year. After a double mastectomy that same month, two spots were found on her liver during an emergency  CT scan in March. She will begin another round of full body chemo next week and then will be on continuous chemo every three weeks for the rest of her life.

To live with cancer is to expect a fight every day. Fighting just to wake up and face the challenges of the day. Fighting through nausea, discomfort, and pain. Fighting to keep a smile on your face for your loved ones. Fighting the urge to just give up. Fighting for hope. As much as Megan is a tender hearted servant, she is also a fighter!

Megan, Jackson and Mayellen are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support! Even with friends and family rallying together to help in any way possible, resources are limited. Yes, she has medical insurance (thank goodness), but as anyone who has fought cancer knows, that is not enough. Your contribution will cover travel, living and treatment expenses and give Megan a chance to battle this terrible disease yet again. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. They would humbly accept any help you may provide.

Thank you.
