Cheryl’s current needs

Hi, my name is Mike, and I am helping raise funds for my mother in law, Cheryl.
Most of Cheryl’s immediate family and friends are aware that she was diagnosed with Interstitial lung disease seven years ago.
Out of respect for Cheryl and her privacy, her daughters have not shared publicly her situation.
I am setting up this gofundme with her permission to help provide services she needs.
Cheryl has been on oxygen for the last seven years and has had some complications recently from long term use of oxygen. She was hospitalized last month with a diagnosis of having dangerous levels of CO2 in her blood. She is now required to wear a special bipap machine to better control CO2 levels.
With Cheryl being on oxygen for so many years and having limited mobility along with being in the hospital for two weeks attached to breathing machines has caused her to struggle with extreme weakness and fatigue.
Since being back home Cheryl has been set up with physical therapy at home and her insurance is covering meals delivered. We have looked into everything that her hospital case worker shared with Ami and Sara for services after her discharge. Unfortunately, there are many services she doesn’t qualify for even after being appealed.
Cheryl is at a place where she requires extra help, running errands, house cleaning, help taking her dog out, help getting her to appointments, reminders on taking medications, and simply getting out of her apartment from time to time. Help with these tasks is a high need for Cheryl.
In home health care can help with all the things listed and would help her remain at home. This level of care would fall under the services that Cheryl does not qualify for through her insurance and is paid out of pocket. We have spent weeks checking into every angle, however this is the only way to provide what she needs.
Sara lives right up the street from Cheryl and helps so much, but does have a full time job.
I have worked with Cheryl on a budget to cover the care she needs and deserves.
Together we are asking for $10,000 dollars to have in home health come out three times a week for two hours. The company we have found and feel would be a good fit for her needs charges $31 hr. That is about normal rate for Nashville. We would like to have her set up for the next year with this service and are hoping to raise as much of that as possible as Cheryl needs assistance in this area. Between her kids it is too much to take on with families of our own.
I know Ami and Sara would appreciate any help in this area for their mom, and we of course always appreciate your prayers for mom.
Thank you in advance for thinking about helping us reach this goal for her.
Blessings,
Mike Woodyard
