Help Colleen Fight Cancer!!!

On July 25th my sister-in-law Colleen Preble, received a horrific call from her doctor telling her that the latest MRI had in fact detected Cancer in her liver. What many of you may not know is, this is Colleen’s third cancer diagnosis in three years. Despite this latest news, she maintains a fighter attitude and vows to again, beat this devastating disease.
Colleen’s battle with Cancer began in November of 2020, when she was first diagnosed with stage 3 rectal Cancer. Her treatment plan included radiation and chemotherapy for 6 months, ultimately ending in Ostomy surgery. Just when she was adjusting to her new normal, and settling into life with an ostomy bag, in November 2022, the terrible news came again…This time stage 3 Liver Cancer! In March of 2023, Colleen went to Boston to undergo a 9 hour surgery to remove 45% of her liver in hopes to get all the Cancer. The doctors were hopeful and felt they had done just that.
Unfortunately, during her 3 month checkup last week, Cancer was AGAIN found in her liver and lymph nodes. While a full treatment plan has not yet been determined, her doctor said she will need to start chemotherapy ASAP. She will have weekly treatments in Brewer which is 100 miles round trip.
Like many of us, Dan and Colleen live week to week. Dan works full time to support their family, including 3 beautiful girls ages 11-17. It is likely Dan will need to miss some work to help Colleen over the next several months. The potentially missed work days, regular monthly bills, and now new travel expenses to weekly treatment will put a burden on their budget. Colleen is also concerned about school starting and the girls having all the things they will need.
This fight will require a lot of love and support! Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated, whether in the form of prayers, positive thoughts, cards and/or monetary donations - Please support Colleen in whatever way you can to continue to FIGHT & BEAT this Cancer once and for all!
