A Fighting Chance

Donation protected
Meet Andy. Two weeks ago and he was
diagnosed with HIV. After putting the pieces together, we determined that he was drugged at a popular bar in Colorado Springs. I’ll let you imagine what happened after that. Not three hours after receiving his diagnosis, his mother died. And he was already exhibiting signs of HIV wasting, and did not have the capacity to handle his mothers death as well. For those of you who don’t know, Colorado is one of the worst states to be in with this type of diagnosis. He was turned down multiple times for testing stating that they didn’t know how to charge him, or that he would be better suited at another facility. After hours of research and days of playing phone tag we were finally able to get an appointment to get him on meds. Today when we went to the appointment they turned him away because their system was down. And rescheduled him for 26 June. He is already at the point where he can hardly stay awake and he literally cannot do anything for himself right now. Too much longer and I am afraid that there won’t be an Andy left a save. I am trying to get him to Arizona, where the healthcare for people with this diagnosis is phenomenal. With no vehicle and nowhere to live, it makes this very difficult to achieve. All I’m asking is that you help me give him a fighting chance, because he deserves a fighting chance. Colorado has done everything that they can to make sure that he does not get assistance in any way shape or form. I wish I could say I was surprised that in the times that we live in something like this could still happen, but I stopped being surprised by the actions of people in this place a long time ago. If you can find it in your heart to donate what you can we only need enough to get to Arizona and two have enough money for living expenses until he gets on his feet. With the way gas prices are an estimating approximately $300 just for gas. That requires me to leave Arizona, go and get him, and bring him back. I know times are hard for everyone, I myself am living with my parents and if I hadn’t traumatized them earlier on in life by bringing home people who needed help , then he could stay with me. Unfortunately there is simply nowhere for him to stay. I looked into housing assistance and the only thing that I have been able to find is a homeless shelter that he can go to for 12 hours every other day to take a shower and get some rest. In his current condition that simply won’t do. We need help in anyway we can get it. Even if it’s just a loan of funds for the time being. I will do everything I can to pay back whoever is able to help out, but right now we are out of options. I know that we are all suffering out here, but there comes a time when enough is enough. And this kid has suffered enough. Please don’t make me watch him wither away and die.
