VHS Teacher Needs Support! Help Ms. Merritt!

Donation protected
Hi there - my name is Jeanette Moore, and I am an art teacher in Venice, FL. A fantastic art teacher who joined our VHS family this year needs our support! Alicia Merritt is an inspiring musician, artist, friend and teacher. She is very caring, friendly, calm-natured, and incredibly humble about her vast talents.

Hurricane Ian made landfall just six miles from Alicia's neighborhood! They had been evacuated, but her home was leveled. They finally saw it in person on Sunday, the 9th, for the first time since the hurricane. There was nothing left but rubble. Since the home was in Zone A, it did not have flood insurance and is a complete loss. Alicia and her family have been temporarily housed with different family and friends and are currently staying in a hotel. They must start over from square one with a house, clothing, furniture, and everything that makes a home. As a professional Celtic musician, some of the most devastating losses for Alicia were her two beloved guitars. Donated funds will help Alicia and her family rebuild their home, get back on their feet, and return to making music.

Please help this wonderful art teacher in any way that you can! Thank you!!
