Vicki Walker- Health Support Fund
Donation protected
Vicki Walker has been a constant figure in SC gymnastics for over 30 years. She has served the state of South Carolina as a judge, coach, State Administrative committee member, SC NAWGJ board member, and SC AAU Chairman and committee member. Vicki has been a loyal friend and ally to any judge or coach, always willing to extend a helping hand and give her time and energy to help when needed. For the last three years she has been dealing with chronic pain and health issues. She has had multiple surgeries, seen countless doctors, and tried many different treatment plans. These health concerns have forced Vicki to step away from the sport to which she has devoted so much of her life. Now it is our turn to help Vicki.
After 3 years of living with debilitating pain Vicki has finally been diagnosed with Central Sensitization Syndrome. She will be part of a three week intensive treatment program at Mayo's Comprehensive Pain Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville, FL. The program costs $40,000, but if paid in full and up front Vicki can pay a lump sum of $18,000. Insurance will not cover any of the cost associated with this treatment, so she needs our help! Vicki has had to put her treatment on hold until she can raise the funds to pay for this expensive treatment at Mayo.
Because the program is three weeks long she will be staying in a condo near the treatment center. Her husband, David, will be traveling to and from Jacksonville each weekend because he will have to work during the week, so her mother, Louise Peck, will be staying with her to help.
Vicki could use our support to help pay for the $18,000 treatment program that will not be covered by insurance, as well as for the expenses associated with living in Jacksonville for 3 weeks. No donation is too small, and every cent will be greatly appreciated.
