Vicks Cancer Battle

Hi we're Vicki's kids Shea, Erin and Patrick(Alyssa)

This is something we hoped we'd never have to use, but circumstances have arose that have made it an unfortunate necessity.

For those of you who know us, you know our amazing and loving Mom Vicki. For those who don't, let us tell you a bit about her. Vicki was born on August 22nd 1953, the oldest of 5 she has been the matriarch of our family for the last two decades. She has always been there to help whenever she can, whether it's giving someone a place to live when they were down on their luck to providing a delicious meal for a hungry tummy. Our mom had been a constant support in our lives. A well known and loved member of our community she worked in the Food Basics produce department for years, and though she's been retired for almost 15 years I still have people ask how she's doing on a daily basis. Mom has raised us on her own since my father passed on September 20th 1993, As a single mother she kept our household going doing her best to make sure we didn't go without, even if that meant she did. She has kept a roof over house in a home that has become a family hub for her kids, her grandson Sloan her sisters and her neices and nephews. Vicki had a tough start to the year with the roof of her home needing to be replaced, her back door suddenly breaking and having to have that replaced.. all expenses that a retired woman on a fixed income has had to figure out how to cover. We have done our best to help but it still left a dent. This year, on the 30th anniversary of my father's death...We found out she had an incredibly rare and aggressive form of cancer called carcinosarcoma.

This means our wonderful and beautiful momma has a big battle ahead of her, starting with a FULL hysterectomy this coming Wednesday. We're asking for your help to ease her burden, she'll have travel costs and housing costs on top of new medications that may not be covered by OHIP. And maybe just maybe, a little to help check off some of those bucket list items.
