Vicky Duncan Sparks

My mother, Vicky Duncan Sparks, passed from end stage liver failure on February 6th, 2024. Though she first became sick in October '23, she seemed to be on the mend and slowly getting better. It wasn't until January that she was readmitted to the hospital and after a short stay it was found that she had end stage liver failure and decided that it would be best for her to be admitted to hospice.

Because of my mother's mental health issues and former drug use (she had been sober for almost 10 years), she did not have standard life insurance. No company would insure her for more than accidental. Because she died of natural causes, this left us with nothing but the very small amount in her bank account to handle her affairs.

Thankfully she had enough to cover her cremation, but that was it.

My mother's only wish for herself after death was to be cremated and scattered in the Red Woods in California, a place she always loved when we lived there.

This is my plea to those who loved her and those who never knew her to help us get her there.

$5,000 would cover the plane tickets for myself, my husband, and our three kids, as well as the hotel stay and car rental we would need. It would also help us with food, and park admittance and the permit we may possibly need.

*As we all know, air travel is expensive. A majority of the funds raised will be going to that cost. As of right now, it's looks to be about $3,800 for my family of 5 depending on date.
