Help Vicky & kids get home after house fire
Donation protected
Hi my name is Emma and I’m fundraising to try to help my friend Vicky get her and her children back home after a house fire.
On 9th of February a fire started in the kitchen, it quickly took hold. The fire brigade came and quickly put the fire out but being a ground floor flat (due to Vicky’s disability) the damage and smoke has gone right through the entire accommodation.
Vicky spent a week in hospital (luckily Ryan was not at home) recovering from smoke inhalation. The fire brigade established the cause being an electrical fault that occurred near the microwave. The property has been deemed uninhabitable until various work has been carried out.
Since being discharged from hospital Vicky has been staying at her mums but unable to sleep in a standard bed she has to sleep upright in the lounge chair. At home vicky has an electric bed as well as many other adaptions to make her life easier. Vicky has a severe lung problem and mobility issues and is desperate to get her and her son back home.
In order to get them home the house needs to be treated for the smoke damage and the fumes it has left through out the home. The kitchen needs to be professionally decontaminated and cleaned, repaired and repainted and Vicky lost her microwave and cooker in the fire. Any money raised will be put towards getting the property in a safe and habitable state and replacing the lost appliances. The costs of all this are estimated at £2000+.
A big thank you in advance to anyone who can donate even a very small amount. Times are hard for everyone right now so any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. Pennies or pounds will all be equally gratefully received.
