Victim of Crime Amanda Greig

On the 19th of May Amanda and her family had their world turned upside down.
Returning home from after school activities with her two young girls, aged 5 and 8, and dog in the car, Amanda was targeted in a senseless, horrific and brutal attack by a group of strangers.
(As police are currently investigating the case, more specific information cannot be provided at this stage.)
As a result of this unprovoked attack, Amanda has sustained lifelong physical and psychological injuries. Notably, she has suffered very serious injuries to one of her legs for which she has already undergone surgery and is currently awaiting more major surgery/s in the following weeks.
A painful and extensive rehab journey is to follow with probable further surgery down the track. Amanda, her two young girls and her partner all are significantly traumatised by the attack.
Their family car also was badly damaged in the senseless attack and is not drive-able. Due to the ongoing police investigation their car is not yet available for repair which severely restricts the family’s daily needs and Amanda’s need to be driven to medical treatments.
Amanda is the main breadwinner in their household, as her partner was diagnosed and has been living with chronic heart failure for the last few years.
These dreadful circumstances are weighing heavily as expected and preventing Amanda from doing what she loves most in life...spending quality time with her family, her beautiful girls, walks with the dog, being outdoors and importantly, going to work.
Therefore, with this fundraiser we hope people can walk in Amanda’s shoes for a moment to realise her pain and distress and assist our aim to raise much needed funds for;
- Rent
- Day-to-day household expenses
- Immediate & ongoing Medical bills
- Extensive Car Repairs incurred from the attack
For those of you who don’t know Amanda personally, she is a caring and loving mother and partner, a truly loyal and kind friend, an amazing and hardworking colleague to many at Cabrini Hospital and one of the most genuinely good & decent people in this world.
Amanda’s lovely family are across the globe in England, and her partner’s family are in New Zealand. Their inability to support Amanda due to distance and Covid restrictions preventing them from coming to her aid is soul-destroying.
This family in so much need deserves all the help and support we can muster from friends and their broader community right now.
Amanda has always gone above and beyond to help friends and strangers alike, now it is our turn to help her.
Thank you all in advance x
