Victim of NatWest telephone banking fraud
Donation protected
This is Hannah, she is a very talented makeup artist with her own studio that like others has been forced to close during these uncertain times. She is one of the most genuine, kind, loveliest people I have ever met. She sadly has recently become a victim of a NatWest Telephone banking fraud. It’s a very sophisticated kind of fraud. She received a phone call from the NatWest phone number that appears on the back of the card. They claimed there was unusual activity on the account and she needed to change her passcodes, all the while she is receiving corresponding txt on the same message thread as her other legitimate NatWest messages. They then went on to use this information to transfer EVERY SINGLE penny out of her account. Not only all her hard earned savings but also the small business grant that she has just received from the government due to lockdown. NatWest are not accepting Any responsibility for this (even though it was their system that was hacked) they have said it is her that is at fault. She has appealed this and they have come back to her claiming she is accountable and there is nothing they can do. For this to happen at anytime is absolutely devastating but when she is unable to work and is uncertain when she will be returning to working life it can be really detrimental to a person. Luckily she has a strong family unit, and after moving back to live with her mum (due to the fact she has been left completely penniless) she has support around her. I’d like to add she has no idea this has been set up. Please donate anything that you can spare to help her recoup the money she has had stolen and share her story to make people aware and warn people of how sophisticated these vile scammers are becoming!
