Victor "JuJu" Johnson Medical Fund

Victor, affectionately called JuJu, is a family man, a hard worker, and a man with an infectious laugh. He is one who considers many of his friends, family and has opened his doors to anyone in need. He loves what he does, his art of dressmaking/ tailoring and Junkanoo. He hates to disappoint people and pushes himself to ensure everyone around him is "straight". People are always welcomed to sit and talk at the shop; and if you stop in to talk be prepared to do just that. He jokes about his daughter and regular clients who will sit and wait until their garments are altered or complete. He is a man with a big heart.

 

Now this man needs you. Last week Thursday, Oct 7, 2021 after attempting an all nighter to complete some garments, he complained of weakness and a headache. So in true JuJu style instead of only resting, he took on a lighter load. However, by Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 there was no improvement in his health. After being convinced to go to the doctor Tuesday, he was sent home; however his family noted there were no improvements in his health by Wednesday. He was slow to move, and could not speak freely; and we all know that is very unlike him. He was then taken to hospital under the suspicion of a stroke. However, after the results of a second CT scan it was found he had a large mass and multiple lesions on his brain. He has been admitted to hospital until the results of a MRI to determine exactly what the prognosis is.

 

The fight begins now. He always took care of himself and thought he was in the best shape of his age bracket; we know some people may have even had some of his infamous green juice. But this was unexpected and he is not prepared financially for something so drastic. So he's reaching out to all of you for help. We need to secure his spot when it is time to schedule the surgery so this amount is tentative based on any new information from the doctors; and we soon as we know. We will share with you.

 

His road to recovery will not be easy but we hope to have him behind a sewing machine, doing what he loves soon.
