Victor Wiens needs a Kidney ASAP

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jenna, I am a friend of Mandy and Victor Wiens. When I heard what shocking news Victor and his family received last week, I knew I needed to step in and start this GoFundMe. I'm here to fill you in on what's happened to Victor and I am hoping we can come together and help this family in need!

On November 6th, Victor experienced dizziness that prompted a visit to the ER. After only a couple of hours and bloodwork Victor and Mandy were rushed into a meeting with some of the best hospital specialists at KGH and told that there were very serious concerns about Victor's kidney function. Doctor's discovered that Victor has been living with only one kidney (probably for a while) and his 1 kidney is only functioning at 8% !!

Victor has been diagnosed with kidney failure and is in the process of starting out patient dialysis until a new kidney can be found. The medical teams are also trying to find out what is causing his kidney failure, a biopsy is an option but there are risks associated due to very little functioning kidney.

Mandy and Victor are integral members of the Kelowna community. They have 4 children - Jordan (22), Olivia (16), Faith (3) and Thomas (2).

Many of you know Victor, a loving father and husband, active roofer and energetic lacrosse player. Victor's #1 priority is his family and he works hard to support Mandy and the kids.

The family has entered a time of busy medical procedures and surgeries. Victor has had to stop working to treat his illness. The doctors are confident he can return to work once he is healed from receiving a new kidney. The difficulty is not knowing when that will be. Mandy is reaching out to as many channels as possible searching for anyone willing to become a live kidney donor.

Please consider helping the Wiens Family with this major life change!

The funds raised will be used to support the families immediate needs, medical care & expenses including loss of wages, household bills, living expenses and specific dietary needs for Victor and the many other costs associated with receiving ongoing dialysis and a kidney transplant.

When the time comes, Victor's transplant will occur in Vancouver, BC. His approximate recovery time is 3-4 months IN Vancouver. This will also be a financial and time strain on the family. Mandy has had to reduce her work hours to support Victor's needs currently and she will need more time off when the surgery happens.

The Wiens Family has entered a health marathon and needs your ongoing love, prayers & support. Victor & Mandy very much appreciate any and all help received!
