Victoria Hodge Medical Relief

Hi, my name is Lotus and I'm fund raising for a friend of mine named Victoria Hodge. Victoria is a young woman who was born with a digestive defect. She has suffered with chronic pain most of her life. Growing up she often hid her unexplained stomach aches, nausea, diarrhea/ constipation, and bouts of vomiting. Pediatric doctors dismissed the symptoms as gastritis, nervousness and other things. She graduated high school, went onto college and became a Registered Nurse. She married Marine ( Brad Hodge) who became an officer in Virginia. In over 2 decades the pain, nausea and other symptoms that were " coming and going " became more sinister and turned into extremely pain attacks of pain, nausea and relentless vomiting. Her symptoms also became more frequent. She sought medical attention and dozens of exams and was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic disorder. A particularly bad flare up caused her to become diabetic. She struggled with these awful attacked but still managed to work. In 2018 Vicky underwent a huge surgery ( Total Pancreatectomy and Islet Cell Transplant) to remove the diseased pancreas and transplant healthy cells to try to control her diabetes. She did well and miraculously went right back to work as an RN. Now 4 years post Total Pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant, She has developed other digestive conditions that are extremely debilitating. She is now barely able to work and is losing alot of weight. The pain is difficult to control. She needs, medications and other diabetic equipment that insurance doesn't cover. Co-pays and other bills are mounting. We can work all our lives and still illness can strike and wreak havoc bringing financial problems with it.
